On-Site Service

Flat rate - $48/hr. Minimum charge $20. 

Mileage rate (55¢) applies except in ZIP codes 68104, 68122, 68134, and 68152.

Services include Windows and Mac troubleshooting and setup, including virus removals, iPhone/iPad/iPod software assistance, and computer consultations/training.

Cornhusker Tech does not offer screen replacement or circuitry repair.

Drop-Off or Pick-Up* Service

Mileage applies for pick-up service, where I pick up your computer at your location and work on it from my office.

Mileage is based on the Cornhusker Tech office location near 72nd and Military, Omaha, NE. 

Parts NOT included in pricing.  Parts purchased during an on-site appointment, if not pre-ordered or already present, thus requiring a trip out to a nearby store, will be assessed a 20% surcharge or $15 trip fee, whichever is greater.  Parts purchased for drop-off service will be charged actual price (reimbursement), plus 3% only if paying by credit card.

Cornhusker Tech accepts payment for computer repair services by cash, check, or credit card.

Terms and Conditions for On-Site Computer Repair Service

• Please call at least an hour ahead if you need to change your appointment time. If Joel arrives and the computer is not available or there is a delay preventing the requested service from commencing, the waiting time will be billed at a rate of $48.00/hr.
• Due to health concerns, I request to work in a smoke free environment. If cigarette smoke is present, a $30 fee will be assessed. If this will be a problem, please call ahead to request off-site/drop-off service.
• In the event that equipment to be serviced is sticky, greasy, or excessively unsanitary, a surcharge may be assessed, equipment may need to be cleaned as part of billed services, or services may be denied. Please ensure your equipment is clean prior to your service appointment. This includes, but is not limited to, sticky keyboard and mouse, dusty computer equipment or excessively dusty surroundings, food/drink residue, etc.
• If you have animals in your home, please restrain them for the duration of your service appointment (preferably in another room). Otherwise, a fee may be assessed or on-site services denied at no charge, no matter how "friendly" your pet is. Animals may be a safety risk, as well as interfere with computer troubleshooting and repair tasks.
• ISP configuration and setup is available for CenturyLink, Cox, Windstream, Time Warner, Charter, American Broadband, and Mediacom customers. If you have another ISP, please contact Cornhusker Tech first to confirm setup assistance or email troubleshooting will be available.
• If you have private email ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) you are responsible for contacting your ISP to ensure all necessary ports are open on your account.  If you are unsure as to what that is, contact your email hosting provider. If you are using the basic cPanel email provided with Cornhusker Tech hosting, please make sure ports 25, 465, 587, and 2525 are open.  If using Google Apps, try accessing your email at www.gmail.com.
• E-mail troubleshooting services are not available for Outlook Express or Outlook 2003 or earlier; however, Cornhusker Tech can upgrade you to freely-available newer email software for the base cost of "software installation and configuration", $48/hr. Experience more options, better email security, better junk mail filtering, and improved protection against viruses with newer, better email software.  If you use Outlook Express on Windows XP or earlier, you have the option of upgrading to another email program (no added cost for the software).
• If you subscribe to dial-up Internet access, please notify Cornhusker Tech at least one day prior to your service appointment. In some cases, on-site/house-call service may not be available for dial-up users in the event software updating or installation is required. In addition, due to the longer download times of dial-up Internet, a $24/hr. surcharge will apply to the entire visit. If specific applications are known to be needed, they may be requested one day prior and will be saved to a CD-R for a fee of $10.00.
• Any required training will be regarded as a billable service at the rate of $48/hr.

The following software titles are recommended by Cornhusker Tech for use and upkeep of your computer systems. Any free applications are available for installation by request. Commercial applications are also available but client must first purchase the application before it can be installed and configured by Cornhusker Tech.
